I’m back to being a hobbyist! Today I went to witness the 401st Feast of the Black Nazarene in Quaipo, Manila, I had the first hand experience of the crowd that I only see in television. I processed the images to an old film look effect for it to have a different presentation.

The Crowd
I can’t believe what my eyes have seen, this is one hell of a crowd, the police has estimated the crowd to be at around 3 Million, I believe there’s more.

The Band
People from everywhere flocked the streets of Quiapo to fulfill their devotion to the Black Nazarene.

To the Temple
Of course, the politicians won’t be left behind, instead of actually being there, they’ve printed their names to the t-shirts & distributed to the devotees. Yes they were there in spirit, or maybe in shirts.

Sea of people
It was hard to find a vantage point, the best place to shoot was on top of a building but I wasn’t able to find one, I found a good place within the Carlos Palanca St. near Mayer’s Photo, then the parade started & we were mobbed!

Here are some of the shots I took within that area.

From there I went to Quezon Bridge to find a better view of the parade, by this time the image of the Black Nazarene just made it’s first round.

The next shot was taken while I was on top of a fire volunteer’s fire engine, this time I have a better vantage point
Mob

Around 4:30PM when I left the place, I don’t wanna be caught in one hell of a traffic congestion. It was quite an experience having covered it the first time.
