I bought a unit of the new Nikon D60 DSLR last Wednesday, just in time before the stores in Hidalgo closes for the Holy Week. I got the unit for 30,000 Pesos, which includes an AFS Nikkor 18-55mm VR lens (one of Nikon’s VR lens) & a free Lexar 1GB SD card.

The owner (Labs) & I went to AWM (American War Memorial) last Maundy Thursday to test the Nikon D60, here are the sample shots, no PP was done on the images except resizing.

One of the new feature of the Nikon D60 is the Active D-Lighting (which you can also find in a D300 & D3 units), Active D-Lighting when activated makes a backlighted subject a little brighter.
Here are two images taken using the same camera & same setting (Manual 1/1600″, f3.8, ISO100 @ 18mm) , the first photo was taken with the Active D-Lighting feature activated.

The next image was taken with a deactivated D-Lighting.

Notice that the walls of the latter image was a little bit dark compared to the first, I know that the scene was not a good one to test the feature, I hope to have it tested thoroughly in the future. Meanwhile, I believe that the camera is a good entry level camera & worth investing on.

Tama ka Adonis, mukhang hindi nabasa ni boy_dapa yung date, I bought the camera shortly after it was launched, it was around 35k in january (grey unit) & went down to 30k in March. You can check this site to verify http://www.dpreview.com/news/0801/08012910nikond60.asp. During it’s initial launch it costs GBP529.99 or around 39k in Philippine Pesos. Also, I have no reason to brag about the price, walang pogi points sa bumibili ng mahal.
Anyways, salamat sa comments.
